Gimp is a graphic program which is obviously meant for people with better skills than me. Still, I decided to give it a try. You can have a look at the result, but please notice that while it contains no unacceptable nudity it is definitely NSFW. I'd give it an NC-17 rating, or maybe R. Yes, I know it could be better, but it's a first attempt.

Manips are awfully difficult to create though it gets easier after some time of trying and cursing ...

Cursing seems to be the key point. I certainly had to go back to swearing in Italian halfway through (not a natural thing to do when you try to make sense of instructions in English).

And once I saw that picture I had to try and make a manip (it even had half the right thigh hidden, precisely where the scar is). But next time I'll try and study the instructions a bit longer first :).

I still have to figure out how to smoothen the transition between the two pictures. But already getting the skin color to vaguely match was a major nightmare.

And yes, I did write NSFW on purpose :).

It's a very good first attempt. :)

You can always change the manip from color to sepia, that helps to smoothen (or hide) hard lines and so on. You could also duplicate patches of his throat and then just smear a bit around with the color. Um, did that make any kind of sense? I had a very nice instruction for stuff like that. Now if I could only remember where I put that ...

Any nice instruction would be welcome, but I think for a while that image stays "as is". You have no idea how much time I wasted on it already.

Your idea of using sepia is brilliant, though. Maybe also black and white would do?

Oh, I think I have a good idea on how much time you spent on this manip. I played around with pictures and tried my hands at manips for a while too so I truly empathize with you cursing while working on it! *hugs*

Thanks. I tried a black-and-white one and it came out a bit better - now I can't find a satisfying caption though :).
