Prayer

Rating: PG
Word Count: 100
Summary: beware of icy roads. h/w friendship.
Note: Written for[livejournal.com profile] jezziejay's Pic - Tac - Toe Challenge at camp [livejournal.com profile] sick_wilson. My prompt line: eight billiard ball, pink flamingo, traffic light.

Disclaimer: I don't own any of the House, MD characters, which is good since I tend to kill them.

House sunk the eight ball. “I’ve won again. Too boring.”

“Let’s go home then.”

The lights of the Pink Flamingo painted the snow on the sidewalk in bright colors. The traffic light turned green and they started crossing, but House fell and remained motionless. Wilson knelt near him: just a concussion, he thought relieved.

He heard the speeding van too late: with a desperate effort he pushed House out of harm’s way.

*****

House’s head and thigh hurt, but it barely registered. He kept looking at the broken body fighting for life in the ICU bed. He wished he could pray.

He might still live, you know. Still.

Wow ... for some reason I was expecting it to be funny ... Then that last part -- D;
But great job! <3

I had a moment of guilt until I noticed I had labeled it angst.
Thanks for commenting!

Oh ouch, poor Wilson, poor House (: Should have stayed and had another game.

I guess Wilson was so relieved they were going home earlier than usual. Sometimes it's difficult to know what's best. [Of course it's all Wilson's fault for being such a lousy player.]

Sniff...*crosses fingers for Wilson*
Great use of three prompts in one drabble!

The two first prompts clicked immediately in my head (that's why I was so unhappy at the thought of having to trash the whole idea because of the lack of a magic 8 ball - thanks for allowing my interpretation again).

Thank you for the kind comment!

Wow, so intense for a little drabble. Not easy to work the word 'flamingo' into an angsty fic, but you did it, Nice job! :)

Drabbles are good for me because I tend to be overly verbose. Glad to know I succeeded!

Oh my goodness, so tragic. Well done.

I feel very proud of myself for not killing Wilson outright.
Thank you!

Oh no! Ack, I can only hope Wilson survives. Way to pack a punch into such a few words!

Thank you so much! And I'm sure Wilson survives, though I wouldn't know in what condition.

Noooo :( That's so sad :(

Well, at least he's not dead (hands over tissues).
