sick_wilson. My prompt line: eight billiard ball, pink flamingo, traffic light.
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the House, MD characters, which is good since I tend to kill them.
House sunk the eight ball. “I’ve won again. Too boring.”
“Let’s go home then.”
The lights of the Pink Flamingo painted the snow on the sidewalk in bright colors. The traffic light turned green and they started crossing, but House fell and remained motionless. Wilson knelt near him: just a concussion, he thought relieved.
He heard the speeding van too late: with a desperate effort he pushed House out of harm’s way.
*****
House’s head and thigh hurt, but it barely registered. He kept looking at the broken body fighting for life in the ICU bed. He wished he could pray.
