Title: It Happened On Halloween
Wordcount: 100
Rating: PG 13
Summary: Key idea (Mendelsohn gets his revenge on House through accomplices out of jail) shamelessly stolen from
menolly_au's Start Again.
Warnings: Implied violence. Coarse language. Spoilers for 8.01.
Note: Prologue to a longer fic but can also be read as a stand alone.
"Trick or treat?"
He had forgotten Halloween. Three kids, late teens by size.
"Neither. Go away."
"Step outside. Your rooms are bugged."
The voice is adult: so are the knives. The masks shine in the lamplight.
"Don't fuck with Mendelsohn ever again. Police watch may protect you, but not your boyfriend."
He didn't even bother contradicting, just pushed speed dial. No answer.
"Better hurry before he bleeds to death. We wouldn't have hurt him, but he put up a fight."
They ran away, faster than he could follow. He dialed 911 while walking to the police car at the corner.
