Admitting Need

Note: Written for [livejournal.com profile] barefootpuddles' Literary Drabble Challenge, a camp [livejournal.com profile] sick_wilson activity.
Prompt/Summary: You can tell how fragile a boy is by how ferociously he fights over autonomy (from "Raising Cain: Protecting the Emotional Lives of Boys")
Rating: general (I am so proud of myself). ETA Possibly PG for mention of drinking and driving (thank you barefootpuddles!)
Word Count: 100.

House opened his eyes: the hospital room looked as every day of the past week, except for the visitor.

“Good morning.”

“How did you find me?”

“I googled your name. The accident made it into the local news.”

”The sooner you finish your lecture about drinking and driving, the sooner you can go back to Princeton. I don’t need you here.”

That was a blatant lie: he would be discharged soon and couldn't afford a nurse. Nevertheless, Wilson nodded, and House finally noticed the deep lines pain and worry had etched on his face.

“I’m here because I need you.”

Lovely use of your prompt. That last line squeezed my heart a little :)

Thank you for reading, and hope your heart has recovered. Truth always hurts a bit.
Special thanks for finding that the drabble matches the prompt.
