There was no way back now, not when it would have meant doing time. He had given back to Cuddy some of the pain she'd given him, and had quieted his own angrily reproaching conscience with Vicodin and rum.

The ocean breeze swept into the hotel room, smelling like liberty. He was completely free now: from her, from his job, from his friends. Friend. Wilson staring at him, the pain in his face so much more than what a sprained wrist could cause. Wilson.

He sighed as he slipped off his shorts and boxers, then lubed the dildo. Fuck freedom.

Day 29. Almost finished ;-)

He recalls Wilson's pain - I would have thought he would leave out the lube and go for pain over pleasure.

This in beautifully described anyway, and no, he can't go to jail, he would die there like a wild rabbit. But when his vicodin runs out he will be set back down to earth fast and hard. Then he will feel again, all the things that gnaw at him, his leg, his heart, and really understand what he has done, what he has lost - which is not just his job (his purpose) and Wilson, but his inner integrity.

No, I wrote that yesterday. I posted it today. And I have already written tomorrow's and the day after tomorrow's post as well. I'm all set for this year's mmom (I didn't do it every day, though).

When the vicodin runs out he'll find other drugs (I think heroin is a wonderful painkiller). The problem is when the money runs out. Let's hope by then Wilson will have found him.

I've so often thought that song sums up a lot of House's personality. The problem now is that he did let somebody love him -- only she couldn't, in the end.

And he's willfully blind to the other love that's been there all along.

I was looking at the song text of Desperado yesterday. Maybe there's a songfic somewhere? A video? Because it seems to describe House so well. And yes, he did allow Cuddy to love him. But did she?

"Can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes you get what you need" seems like a very appropriate thing to say right now. I want this to be how canon goes, and even if it is never part of the show this could easily slip in (Heh, pun not intended).

I've been emerging myself into "Mystery" this afternoon inbetween doing some serious spring cleaning. Very enjoyable so far.

Definitely. Although I'm an old-fashioned kind of lady so I chose a version that doesn't depend on high tech but good old muscular work - that strong right arm must be good for holding different kinds of cane :-).
