Summary: A brief Park/Wilson encounter, taking place between Risky Business and The Confession.
Rating: gen.
Warning: I don't know where this came from. Not from canon.
Word Count: ~600.

"Do you have a minute?"

Wilson lifted his head from the laptop, hoping to have a decent excuse to ignore it for a while.

"Sure. Does House have a new patient, for whom he needs a consult?"

Park carefully closed the door behind her, then stepped closer to Wilson's desk and whispered. "No, it's... private."

He smiled and gestured that she should sit down.

"Sure. More problems with your boss?"

She turned slightly red, and he was surprised by realising that he did find her cute.

"No. I'm here to thank you. Dr. Chase told me about your bet with House. Said you probably saved my job."

He was sure his color now matched hers but he tried to calm down, stopping midgesture as his left hand reached for his hair.

"You don't need to thank me. He just needed encouragement to do the right thing. He really likes you, you know."

Her eyes narrowed suspiciously, and her whole expression made him think of Sarah at the vet's. The idea was so funny that he had to suppress a chuckle, but he regained composure before answering, since he realized how serious the issue was to her.

"No, not in that way. He may make embarrassing comments, but House has never tried to get into any of his team's pants." He paused and couldn't help smirking. "The converse, on the other hand, has been known to happen."

To his surprise, she laughed a bit. "It might happen again. Adams' so besotted that she didn't even notice Chase's changing looks." Her smile was suddenly clouded. "What if she succeeds? Will we still be able to work together?"

Wilson allowed himself a satisfied smile. "She won't, but she might end up with Chase as consolation prize. Warn her to stay away from Taub, or at least suggest they use both condom and pill."

Park laughed with him, then she rose to her feet.

"Thank you again, anyway. Can I keep bothering you for House management tips?"

"Sure. That's all most people here want from me, anyway."

She looked slightly embarassed again, and fidgeted briefly with one of the flowers in the colorful bouquet on his desk. It had come that morning, with no card attached.

"I... I would be happy to talk to you about other topics than House, if you want. I don't always punch. We could have dinner together sometimes."

She was really attractive like this, and Wilson felt very smug as he quickly computed how many years he was her senior. He tried to infuse as much playful politeness as he could in his voice, knowing that a clearcut answer would be the kindest.

"Thank you, but oncology makes its practitioners rather dull, and administration is worse." He smiled, and added carelessly "Plus, I usually have dinner with House anyway."

She looked disappointed, but smiled bravely on as she said goodbye and thanked him again. As she opened the door she froze, then turned abruptly around to face him.

"So that's why you're so sure Adams has no chance! It's you!"

He was taken by surprise and had a few seconds of hesitation before laughing the suggestion off. A few seconds too many, since a broad smile now lit up Park's face.

"You don't need to answer, Dr Wilson. Good afternoon, and enjoy your dinners. Hope you like the flowers."

'Damn,' he thought as the door clicked softly shut, 'House had warned me she was smart.' He looked at the bouquet and with a sigh clicked the budget spreadsheet open.

He tried to concentrate on the figures to stop imagining House's satisfaction when he found out he'd won another bet.
